
Falcons beat 16th-ranked Loyola Marymount, 10-9

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Air Force senior Petar Jackovich scored with 1:38 left in the fourth to lift 15th-ranked Air Force to a 10-9 win over 16th-ranked Loyola Marymount in a Western Water Polo Association game Sunday, Nov. 9, in Los Angeles, Calif. Air Force swept the weekend's conference games and improved to 14-14 overall.
LMU scored four goals in the first period, but the Falcons came back with goals by Oliver Carter and Ben Roger to tie the game in the second quarter. The Lions scored two more goals for a 6-5 lead at the half. The Falcons came back with four unanswered goals, two by Robby Stiefel and one each by Riley Quinlan and Jantz Johnson in the third quarter for a 9-6 lead. Three straight goals by LMU tied the game, before Jackovich scored the game-winner.
Stiefel led the Falcons with four goals while Johnson scored two. Jackovich, Quinlan, Carter and Ben Rogers each scored one. Quinlan and Riley Thomas each had two assists while Quinlan, Jackovich and Stiefel each had two assists.
Air Force is now idle until the WWPA Tournament, Nov. 21-23, in Los Angeles. Air Force's seed and opponent in the tournament will be determined at a later date.
