Falcon Wrestling Competes at Midlands Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. - Air Force wrestling completed day one action at the 52nd Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships, hosted by Northwestern University. The Falcons sit in 28th place in team competition, led by Junior Scott Reilly.
Reilly, wrestling in the 174-pound class, is the lone Falcon to make it to day two action, going 2-1 on the day, rallying back with a pair of wins in the consolation bracket. After an opening 11-6 loss, Reilly scored a fall over Garet Stehly of Lehigh and an 8-3 win over 12-seeded Ryan Wolfe of Rider. Reilly faces Josh Snook of Maryland to open day two.
Three other Falcons earned two wins on the day. Freshman Sam Kreimier earned at pair of wins for Air Force, wrestling at 157 pounds. Kreimier defeated Chayse Jackson of Grand Canyon, 6-2 and Vincent Deprez of Binghampton, 12-6, before dropping his round of 16 match.
Junior Konner Witt also earned a pair of wins for the Falcons, competing at 184 pounds. Witt opened competition with a 6-5 decision over Sean Pollock of Bakersfield. After a loss in the next round, Witt scored a fall over Jake Masengale of Indiana before dropping a 10-3 decision in the consolation bracket.
Senior Carter McElhany also earned two wins at 141 pounds. McElhany defeated Tanner Cahill of Bloomsburg, 5-4 and earned an 8-0 major over Matt Conrad of Harper College.
Air Force got wins from sophomores Parker Hines, Jerry McGinty and David Walker. Walker posted a fall over Cahill of Bloomsburg at 141 pounds. McGinty, competing at 149 pounds, defeated Joe Umlauf of North Dakota 5-2. Hines, competing at 195 pounds, defeated Vincent Pickett of Edinboro 6-4.
