Head Coach Ryan Cole
Our performance at the conference championship is one of the points of emphasis for our program and I was very proud at the resiliency our men and women showed today.
On the men's side, we are obviously very pleased and fortunate to come away with the win. But that win doesn't happen without lifetime races by two seniors - Dan Shellhouse and Dan Caddigan - back in our pack. Our guys up front ran very selfless races to protect team points and then Matt Dorsey ran, maybe, the toughest race of all, particularly over the last 2k.
The women also ran very poised races, led by Hannah having the best women's individual finish in school history. Sam Skold also ran extremely tough and our pack of Katie, Carina, and Lindy just grinded the run out. But they know the season isn't over and we haven't had our best team race yet, so we're excited for regionals.
Senior Patrick Corona
Today was an incredible team effort, but it was by no means our best day. The veteran guys stepped up and got the job done, particularly seniors Dan Caddigan and Dan Shellhouse. We look forward to building on this race as we head into the remainder of the championship season.
Senior Hannah Everson
I wanted to run a smart race and see how high I could place. This conference is packed with talent this season, and placing third was great. But I want to keep improving as the season's end comes closer. And I know my teammates all think the same thing. We've got great momentum as the season's end comes closer, and I think we'll really surprise some people at regionals and beyond.
