Falcons beat Arizona State, 158-142, to remain undefeated

The Air Force men's swimming team completed a weekend sweep and remained undefeated this season with a 158-142 win over Arizona State, Saturday, Nov. 7, in Tempe, Ariz.
The Falcons (8-0 overall) opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay as the team of Devon Davis, Michael Barnosky, Kevin Mitchell and Michael Hannigan swam a 1:28.92.
In the second event, the Falcons' depth showed as Kevin Jackson (15:53.84) was second, Garrett Glaudini (16:03.66) was third and Collin Green was fourth ( 16:21.93).
The Falcons then took the top four places in the 100 back as Devon Davis won (47.96), Joey Gebhart was second (50.43), Corey Gutierrez was third (51.51) and Kris Tillery was fourth (51.42). Davis was also second in the 100 fly (49.42) later in the meet.
Air Force took the top two spots in the 100 breast stroke as Michael Barnosky won (54.71) and Kevin Fanter was second (55.78). Barnosky also won the 200 breast stroke with 1:52.42.
Jordan Dahle won the 200 free (1:39.37) while Andrew Faciszewski won the 500 free (4:34.14) and Kevin Fanter was second (4:35.02).
Nathanael Zillweger won the 1-meter diving with 302.80 and was second on 3-meter with 328.75 points.
"We won another tough one today," head coach Rob Clayton said. "Devon Davis set school and service academy record in the back stroke. Michael Barnosky won a couple of events and Andrew Faciszewski came from behind to win. Nate Zillweger beat a couple of All-Americans in diving. We have a big battle with Wyoming this coming week up in Laramie and hope to keep it rolling into the Texas A & M meet in a couple weeks."
The Falcon men's swimming team faces long-time rival Wyoming, on Nov. 12 at 2 pm in Laramie, Wyo. As part of the same meet, the Air Force and Wyoming men's diving teams will compete at the Academy on Nov. 12, at 4 p.m. in the Cadet Natatorium.
