Rico and Carpentier Athletes of the Week

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. - March 16, 2015 - Junior Tyler Rico (CS33) and senior Meredith Carpentier (CS35) are this week's Athletes of the Week. Both earned College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) and National Rifle Association (NRA) honors.
Rico was named to CRCA Second Team and the NRA First Team and Smallbore Second Team following the 2015 NCAA Men's and Women's Rifle Championships on March 13-14. Rico finished seventh in the nation in the air rifle after scoring a 101.4 in the air rifle shoot-off. In the smallbore, Rico finished 12th overall and had the second-highest score in his relay with 572 points. Rico has four All-America awards of his career.
Carpentier was named to the CRC honorable mention team and was named to the NRA Air Rifle Second Team. The All-American honors are Carpentier's sixth awards of her Academy career. At the NCAAs, Carpentier finished with 567 points in smallbore and 585 points in air rifle.
Air Force finished seventh in the nation, and 17-7 for the season, fourth in the Patriot Rifle Conference.
