Several Air Force cadet-athletes spent a large part of Saturday at Glen Park in Palmer Lake, Colo., helping the Coalition for Upper South Platte Watershed doing fire mitigation work. Cadet-athletes from the cheerleading, dance and the Bird Mascot teams and members of the men's gymnastics team helped with fire mitigation to keep the area safe.
"I was so excited to be working with the Air Force cheer, dance and mascots teams, as well as the men's gymnastics team members doing fire mitigation work in our community," Air Force cheer/dance team coach Laura Hutcheon said.
This was the one of the latest efforts by Air Force cadet-athletes helping with fire mitigation in the local community since the fires that hit Waldo Canyon and Black Forest in recent years.
