Falcons in fourth at Northwestern Invite

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force women's swimming and diving team is in fourth place after two days of the Northwestern TYR Invitational in Evanston, Ill. Northwestern is in first place with 597.5 points while Michigan State is second (574.5), Grand Canyon is third (463), Air Force is fourth (433.5), Truman State is fifth (246.5), Illinois Chicago is sixth (236) and St. Louis is seventh (164).
The 200 medley relay team of Emma Strom, Shayle Finnesand, Elise Hart and Lydia Knutson won, and broke the pool record, with a time of 1:41.66. Finnesand also placed seventh in the 100 breast stroke (1:05.38).
Junior Elise Hart won the 100 fly with an NCAA "B" cut of 54.46. Hart also placed sixth in the 100 backstroke (56.80). Freshman Esther Min was fifth in the 100 fly (56.35).
Senior Genevieve Miller won the 200 free by more than two seconds over the second-place finisher with a time of 1:49.15. Miller was also fifth in the 400 IM (4:22.68).
In diving, sophomore Isabella Farrell placed eighth in one-meter diving with 239.9 points.
Air Force concludes the three-day Northwestern Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 20, in Evanston, Ill.
