Gouchoe named SoCon Defensive Player of the Week

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force senior goalkeeper Doug Gouchoe was named the Southern Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for all games played Feb. 23-29, the league office announced Tuesday.

Gouchoe collected his second straight defensive player of the week accolade after posting 18 saves in two Air Force wins. He tallied 10 saves in a 9-3 triumph over Dartmouth and added eight more saves on Sunday as the Falcons beat Sacred Heart, 13-10.

In five games this season, the Concord, Mass., native ranks second in the SoCon in goals-against average (7.36) and saves percentage (.557).

The Falcons have won three straight games and are 3-2 overall this season. Air Force travels to Pittsburgh, Pa., for a non-conference game against Robert Morris on Saturday, Mar. 5, at 11 a.m. ET.
