Genevieve Miller earns All-America honors

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Air Force junior Genevieve Miller became the first female swimmer in Air Force history to earn Division I All-American honors. Miller earned honorable mention honors as she placed 13th in the finals of the 500 free at the 2016 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta, Ga. With the points Miller earned today, the Falcons are in 21st place as a team.
Earlier in the day, she became the first female swimmer at the Academy to ever reach the finals at the NCAAs. Miller, from Winston-Salem, N.C., broke her own school record in the 500 free with a time of 4:39.00 as she placed 10th in the prelims Thursday morning.
Miller entered the NCAA Championships ranked 19th in the 500 free as she set a school record and won the event at the Mountain West Championships with a time of 4:40.15.
On Friday, March 18, Miller will swim the prelims for the 200 free at 10 a.m. ET. The finals are set for 6 pm ET. She placed sixth at the Mountain West championships with a school-record time of 1:47.58.
Miller will swim the 1650 free on Saturday March 19, at 3:45 pm ET. She ranks ninth in the nation in the 1650 as she won the MW championship for the third straight season, and holds the school record, with a time of 16:01.39.
