U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY - Falcon wrestling honored their annual awards winner, May 6, at the 2015-16 Air Force wrestling Banquet, at Falcon Stadium, USAFA.
Josh Martinez was named Most Oustanding Wrestler for the 2015-16 Air Force wrestling team. Martinez concluded his wrestling career with 109 career wins and four trips to the NCAA tournament. He held his highest national ranking of No. 7 for two weeks and is a three-time All-Academy Championships title-winner.
Air Force had three cadet-athletes named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team, May 12. Adam Jackson was one of three cadets named to the first-team and will now appear on the national ballot for Academic All-American honors.
Air Force Academy graduate Gen. (Ret) Billy Walker was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as an Outstanding American in the class of 2016.
Falcon wrestling was also named Colorado Springs Salvation Army's Military Group of the year for dedication and service to the Colorado Springs Community.
