
Falcons fall to St. Francis, 15-10

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force water polo fell to St. Francis (N.Y.), 15-10, on the final day of the Princeton Invitational, Sunday, Sept. 11, in Princeton, N.J.

After a tight first quarter, Air Force, ranked 15th in the nation, tied the game at 6-6 early in the second, but St. Francis jumped ahead with four unanswered goals for a 10-6 lead at the half. Three early goals in the third gave St. Francis, ranked 20th in the nation, a 13-6 advantage. Trailing 14-7 after three quarter, the Falcons rallied for three goals, but could not overcome the early deficit.
Junior Riley Thomas led the Falcons with three goals, two assists and two steals.
Air Force, 1-5 overall, returns to action on Sept. 23-25 as the Falcons travel to Berkeley, Calif., for the Pacific Coast Tournament, Sept. 23-25.
