Men 2nd, Women 6th at UCSD Invitational

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving teams kicked off the New Year with a meet at the UC-San Diego, Monday, Jan. 2. The men's team placed second with a team score of 327 while the women placed sixth with 95.5 points. The Falcons were not able to compete in the final four men's and women's events due to travel plans.
In the first men's meet of the day, the team of Kristopher Tillery, Kevin Fanter, Kevin Pollard and Jordan Dahle placed second in the 800 medley relay with a time of 7:32.19. The Falcon team of Ben Brockman, Zach Knoche, Kyle Temple and Michael Hannigan placed third (7:40.13). The Falcons took two of the top three places in the 100 back as Cole McAnany was second (51.52) and Tillery was third (52.23). Garrett Glaudini won the 500 free in a time of 4:39.38. Knoche was second in the 100 breast stroke (57.66) while Fanter was third (58.09). The Falcons took the top two spots in the 100 free as Dahle won (46.01) and Hannigan was second (47.00).
On the women's side, Genevieve Miller won the 500 free (4:51.70). In the 100 fly, Lydia Knutson was second with a time of 51.98.
The Falcons are back in action the weekend of Jan. 13-14 at the Cadet Natatorium. The men's team will host Seattle while the women's team will host both Seattle and Northern Colorado. Friday's meet begins at 6 p.m. while Saturday's meet begins at 11 a.m.
