
Falcons beat Navy, 10-7

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Senior Riley Thomas scored four goals to lead Air Force to a 10-7 win over Navy on the first day of the Gary Troyer Tournament, Friday, Oct. 6, in Claremont, Calif. Air Force (3-9 overall) has now defeated Navy three straight times.
Early goals by Luke Andres and Thomas gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead, but the Mids tied the game at the end of the first quarter. The Falcons took a 6-4 lead at the half as Thomas, Jack Empey, Justin Harrison and Garrett Fisk all scored in the second quarter.
Fisk and Thomas scored the only goals of the third quarter as the Falcons held an 8-4 lead entering the fourth. After a goal by the Mids, Thomas scored his fourth of the game at 5:50 for a 9-5 lead. Navy's Conor Sullivan then scored two goals to cut the Falcon lead to 9-7, but Ryan Dorris' goal with 51 seconds left closed out the contest.
Air Force will face Pomona-Pitzer Friday night, Oct. 6, at 7:15 pm PT.
