Air Force splits a pair of home matches

Air Force split a pair of home matches Saturday at the Cadet Gymnasium Indoor Tennis Courts at the Academy. The Falcons fell to Northern Arizona, 5-2, and rebounded to beat Seattle, 6-1.
Northern Arizona opened the match with the doubles point behind wins at No. 1 and 3. Tadhg Collins and Isaac Perez won at No. 2 doubles. The Lumberjacks won four of the six singles matches to secure the win. Max Olson defeated Felix Schumann, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 while Perez beat Ruben Montano, 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (4) at No. 5.
The Falcons bounced back to win the nightcap against Seattle. Air Force won the doubles point behind wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles. Collins and Perez won 6-4 at No. 2 while Lucas Fumagalli and Mathew Ghering were 6-3 winners at No. 2.
The Falcons won five of six singles matches to clinch the match. Olson was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at No. 1 while Fumagalli posted a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2. Perez completed a 4-0 day overall with a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 3. Mack Galvin picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 4 and David Mottice won 6-4, 7-6 (5) at No. 5.
The Falcons completed a four-match home weekend with a 2-2 mark. Air Force is 5-7 overall this season.
