
Falcons Open Outdoor Season with Two Meets

Meet Notes 10: at Baldy Castillo Classic, at Jerry Quiller Classic ![]()
The Air Force track and field team opens the outdoor portion of its 2017 season this weekend (March 17-18), when it splits for a pair of road meets. Part of the squad will travel to Tempe, Ariz., for the Baldy Castillo Classic, while the rest of the squad remains in Colorado and competes at the Jerry Quiller Classic in Boulder.
MEET INFORMATION: BALDY CASTILLO CLASSIC
The Baldy Castillo Classic will take place at Sun Angel Stadium on the Arizona State campus, with ticket prices sitting at $8 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors. A complete schedule of events is listed below (times are listed local to site and Tempe is currently on Mountain Standard Time (MST). Live stats will be available through FinishedResults.com, while Saturday's running events will be streamed live on via Pac-12.com (direct links to both sites can be found on the Air Force track and field schedule page).

FRIDAY – 1:40 p.m.: Men's Hammer Throw, Women's Hammer Throw, Men's Discus Throw (unseeded), Women's Discus Throw (unseeded); 6:00 p.m.: Men's Pole Vault, 7:00 p.m.: 200-Meter Dash, 400-Meter Hurdles, 2000-Meter Steeplechase, 1500-Meter Run; 7:00 p.m.: Men's Triple Jump, Women's Triple Jump; 7:15 p.m.: Women's Javelin Throw; SATURDAY – 10:30 a.m.: Men's Discus Throw, Women's Discus Throw; 12:00 p.m.: Men's Long Jump, Women's Long Jump; 2:00 p.m.: 110-/100-Meter Hurdles, 4x800-Meter Relay, 4x100-Meter Relay, 400-Meter Dash, 100-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 3000-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay; 2:00 p.m.: Men's High Jump, Women's High Jump; 2:30 p.m.: Men's Shot Put, Women's Shot Put; 2:30 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault; 3:15 p.m.: Men's Javelin Throw (men will compete first in all running events).

The Jerry Quiller Classic will be held at Potts Field on the University of Colorado's East Campus (intersection of Innovation Drive and Discovery Drive). A complete schedule of events is listed below and all times are local to site and Boulder is currently on Mountain Daylight Time (MDT). Admission is $5 for all spectators

Air Force's outdoor roster includes three All-Americans (Matt Dorsey: 1500-meter run; Kyle Pater: pole vault; Jamiel Trimble: 200-meter dash), six Mountain West champions (Robbie Anderson: 4x100-meter relay; Zach Johnson: 4x100-meter relay; Tyler Koss: 400-meter dash; John Reynolds: high jump; Shelly Spires: high jump; Trimble: 200-meter dash, 11-meter hurdles, 4x100-meter relay) and seven Academy record holders (Anderson: 4x100-meter relay; Dorsey: 1500-meter run; Johnson: 100-meter dash, 4x100-meter relay; Spires: high jump; Trimble: 200-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles, 4x100-meter relay).

WHAT'S ON DECK
Air Force makes the first of three trips to California next week, as it travels to San Diego for the 39th-annual Aztec Invitational. The two-day meet, which begins on Friday, March 24, will be held at the SDSU Sports Deck.
