The 2017 version of Air Force Sports Camps is underway at the Academy. The schedule is once again action packed with baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, diving, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball and wrestling going on this week for ages 8-18.
Camps are led by Air Force head coaches and are broken into three sessions. Session 1 is this week, June 12-16, followed by Session 2 from June 19-23 and Session 3, which is a commuter-only week, from June 26-28.
Campers who choose to attend camps in Session 1 or Session 2 also have the option of boarding here on campus and stay in the same dorms as the more than 4,000 cadets do. Additionally boarders get the added benefit of eating in Mitchell Hall and interacting with cadet counselors who will teach campers what it is like to be a student at the Air Force Academy.
Air Force Sports Camps could not be more excited to once again be partnering with Children's Hospital Colorado as our commitment to the health and wellness of young athletes is a focus of the camps.
In addition to our incredible partnership with the Children's Hospital Colorado, we are proud to announce that we will be welcoming back TrueSport as a partner for the fourth straight year. TrueSport is a program powered by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), designed to positively impact and preserve the future of sport in America. The 2017 AFA Sports Camps will once again be officially recognized as a True Sport camp by USADA which means that each camper will be exposed to the curriculum and will gain important lessons on what it means to be a TrueSport athlete.
