Wrestling Falls to No. 15 South Dakota State

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. - Air Force dropped its home dual opener, 32-6, to Big 12 foe No. 15 South Dakota State, Sunday afternoon in Clune Arena. The Falcons are now 6-2 overall with a 1-1 mark in Big 12 action.
Air Force was led by senior Dane Robbins (149) and junior Alex Lopouchanski (165), who picked up a decision win apiece. Robbins recorded a convincing eight-point victory over Colten Carlson via three take downs, an escape and over two minutes of riding time, while giving up only two escape points to his opponent. Lopouchanski recorded the first takedown in his bout against Logan Peterson, notching an additional takedown and three escape points to lift him to a 7-6 decision at the final whistle.
The high-powered Jackrabbit team was led by NCAA championship runner-up, No. 1 Seth Gross, who posted a fall in the 133 class. South Dakota State brandished four nationally ranked wrestlers; three of which are in the top-10 of their respective weight divisions.
Air Force returns to the home dual slate next Sunday against Cal Poly. Action is slated for noon.
