USTA Matchday Army - Dual
USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis released its 2019 spring schedule, announced today by head coach Dan Oosterhous. Highlighting the action will be a nationally-televised dual with Army West Point in Orlando, Fla.
Air Force and Army compete in a first-ever simultaneous dual with both men's and women's teams. The match, taking place at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., will air live on the Tennis Channel on Feb. 16 at 4 pm ET. This will be the ninth matchup in the past 10 years for the Air Force and Army men's teams, with both having four wins each in the past eight meetings.
"We've got a great schedule in front of us," Oosterhous said. "We hit the ground running and play Mountain West opponent Fresno State in the first few weeks of the season. Our match in February versus Army will be one for the history books and our fans should make plans to be there in person. And once we get to our conference schedule in April, I expect we'll be playing our best tennis. This is going to be an exciting season for Air Force tennis!"
The Falcons open competition Jan. 18, hosting CSU-Pueblo and Northern Kentucky. The Falcons also host Northern Colorado on Jan. 20.
In February, the Falcons have four opponents at home, hosting Seward County CC and Metro State on Feb. 4 and Abilene Christian on Feb. 8 and Montana on Feb. 10.
The Falcons have six straight duals on the road before returning home to face Montana for its lone home dual in March on March 15.
After road trips to Nevada, Sacramento State , Utah State and Boise State, Air Force hosts the last four duals of the season at home.
The Falcons host Portland State and San Diego State on April 12 and UNLV on April 14. The regular season finishes with a home dual against New Mexico on April 20.
The Mountain West Men's Tennis Championships run April 25-27 at Fresno State.
