
Sedacy Walden Named MW Athlete of the Week

It is the first weekly indoor honor (second overall) for the Phoenix native.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After posting the second-fastest time in the nation to break the Academy's 500-meter dash record, Air Force senior Sedacy Walden was named the Mountain West Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon (Dec. 11). It is the first weekly indoor award (second overall) for the Phoenix, Ariz., native.
Walden registered a Meet Record time of 1:03.28 to easily win the 500-meter event at the Air Force Holiday Open on Dec. 7. Bettering the rest of the field by nearly three seconds, Walden broke the previous Air Force record by 0.22 seconds and paced the Falcons to four of the top-five finishes. With that time, Walden currently leads the Mountain West and is ranked second in the nation.
Air Force returns to action on Friday, Jan. 11, when the squad travels to Boulder for the Potts Invitational.
