
Men's Tennis Knocks Boise State off in MWC Action

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.- Air Force battled to a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Mountain West foe, Boise State, Friday afternoon, at the Indoor Tennis Courts of Cadet Gymnasium. The Falcons improve to 11-12 on the season with their first victory in league action.
Boise State was the first to light the scoreboard with a win in the No. 1 doubles position. Tadhg Collins and Luke Sanderson dominated Platzeck and Lalovic in the No. 2 position, 6-1, to level the field. Paul Hendrix and Jamie Bautista, who lead the doubles teams with an 8-3 record, battled from behind for a 7-5 win over DeMulling and Bedolo.
The Broncos responded by winning a point at the No. 1 position to even the match. Junior Isaac Perez regained the team lead as he handled Matteo Tinelli in straight-sets at No. 3, 6-3, 6-4, for his first conference win of the season. Going tit-for-tat, Boise State picked up an equalizing point at the No. 2 position. Hendrix, who leads the team with 15 dual wins, battled from behind for the second time of the day, beating Demulling, 6-4, 7-5. Freshman Sean McKendree put the final touches on the victory with a convincing straight-set victory over Platzeck, 6-3, 6-2.
The Falcons return to action in the home finale against Utah State, Sunday at noon, at Cadet Gymnasium Tennis Courts. Lone senior Max Olson will be celebrated at the Senior Day event.
