
Mariana Murphy Wins MPSF Specialist of the Week

Murphy’s first-place finish on the uneven bars helped propel Air Force gymnastics to a team win on Friday
WOODLAND, Calif. - The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation has announced the weekly award winners for action Jan. 23-29. Air Force senior Mariana Murphy has been selected as the conference's Specialist of the Week.
Murphy, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, led the four-team field on the uneven bars with a season-high 9.800 mark to win first-place. Murphy's effort help lead the Falcons to a first-place team finish against San Jose State, Seattle Pacific and Alaska-Anchorage, for the first team-win this season. The honor marks the first MPSF award for Murphy this season and the second of her career.
Air Force returns to action in a triangular with UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater, 6:30 p.m. CT, Friday, Feb. 1, in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
