
Men and Women Ranked in USTFCCCA Preseason Poll

It is the first time in Academy history that both teams are ranked in the national preseason poll.
NEW ORLEANS – For the first time in Academy history, both the men's and women's cross country teams are ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Division I National Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released this morning (Aug. 27) by the USTFCCCA office. The men earned a No. 27 mark in the first rankings of 2019, while the women matched their highest preseason tally at No. 29.
The men and women, under the direction of sixth-year head coach Ryan Cole, were also listed sixth and fifth, respectively, in the USTFCCCA Mountain Region preseason standings. In addition, the men received one first-place vote and a No. 4 ranking in the Mountain West Preseason Coaches' Poll, while the women were picked No. 3 by the league's 11 head coaches.
The Falcons open the 2019 campaign this Saturday (Aug. 31) at the Air Force Open in Colorado Springs.
