Air Force Men’s Tennis Completes Day Two Of ITA Bedford Cup

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis completed day two hosting the 2019 ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains on Saturday, at the Air Force Outdoor Intercollegiate Tennis Courts. Freshman Morgan Ihrig led the way by qualifying for the blue draw singles finals.

Ihrig posted a pair of wins to advance to the title match. The freshman knocked off Milo Benn of Montana 6-7 (4), 6-0 and 6-2 in the quarterfinals and Arthur Serafim of Weber State, 6-2, 6-3.

The Falcons struggled in the blue draw quarterfinals, going 1-3 combined. Junior Paul Hendrix won his quarterfinals match and advanced to the semifinals where he was defeated.

In the Silver draw consolation bracket, Justin Waldman and Jordan Azuma won their matches. The duo will face off in the consolation finals tomorrow.

In doubles play, the duo of Mack Galvin and Irhig went 2-0 to reach the doubles final. Galvin/Ihrig defeated #5-8 Serafim/Ohde of Weber State 6-2 in the quarters and Parker/Williams of Southern Utah.

The duo of Hendrix/Waldman defeated teammates Azuma/Kitayama 6-3 in an all-Air Force match.

Day three and final day of action tomorrow, Sunday, features 9 am finals doubles and 10 am finals singles.
