Falcons Head to Boulder for Colorado Invitational

Air Force will compete at Colorado's IPF on Friday-Saturday (Jan. 31-Feb.1)
Members of the Air Force track and field team head to Boulder this weekend for the Colorado Invitational on Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
MEET INFORMATION
The Colorado Invitational, which will be held at the Buffs' Indoor Practice Facility on the east side of Folsom Field, officially begins with heptathlon and pentathlon on Thursday, Jan. 30, but Air Force will not begin competition until Friday, Jan. 31 (the Falcons' schedule is listed below). Tickets are $5 for Friday and $8 for Saturday. Please note that Colorado's "Clear Bag Policy" will be in effect both days and only water is permitted inside the IPF. The meet is currently scheduled to feature Front Range teams from Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Northern Colorado and Wyoming. Live results will be available via CUBuffs.com/TrackLive, while Air Force highlights will be posted on the team's official Twitter account (@af_tfxc).

FRIDAY - 11:00 a.m.: Women's Long Jump, followed by Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; 1:00 p.m.: Women's High Jump; 3:00 p.m.: Women's Weight Throw, Men's Weight Throw; 7:30 p.m.: Mile Run (seeded), Distance Medley Relay; SATURDAY – 11:00 a.m.: Women's Shot Put, Men's Shot Put; 11:00 a.m.: 5000-Meter Run, 60-Meter Hurdles (prelim), 60-Meter Dash (prelim), Mile Run, 60-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 60-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 200-Meter Dash, 3000-Meter Run (men compete first in all running events)
LOOKING AROUND THE NATION
Three Falcons are currently ranked among the nation's top 10, as Mitch Lipe and Greg Skage are tied for 10th in the pole vault with matching clearances of 17'6½" and Michael Rhoads debuted in that same position in the 800-meter run after posting a season-opening time of 1:49.54 (adjusted for altitude). In addition, Maria Mettler remains listed in the top 15 of the NCAA's 5000-meter run standings with a time of 16:01.36 (12th).
FALCONS NAB THREE WEEKLY CONFERENCE AWARDS
Highlighted by a sweep of the men's weekly Mountain West accolades, Air Force claimed three of the conference's four Athlete of the Week awards on Jan. 28. Michael Rhoads (track) and Greg Skage (field) accounted for the men's second weekly sweep of the season, while Ari Martinez (field) became the first member of the women's team to claim a conference award during the 2019-20 season.

At the midway point of the indoor season, Air Force has claimed six of the men's eight Mountain West Athlete of the Week awards. Charles Dimnwaobi (Dec. 17), Scott Johnson (Jan. 21) and Michael Rhoads (Jan. 28) have earned it on the track side, while Jake Hall (Jan. 14), Mitch Lipe (Jan. 21) and Greg Skage (Jan. 28) have claimed an award from the field.
COMING UP
The Falcons return to the Cadet Field House next Friday (Feb. 7), when they host Long Beach State, Utah Valley and Wichita State in the annual Air Force Team Challenge.
