NEW ORLEANS – The Air Force men's and women's cross country teams earned All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association this afternoon (Jan. 30). It is the second-straight year that both teams have been honored by the USTFCCCA – and the third time overall.
The women's team, which accounted for a 3.30 GPA, has earned All-Academic status nine times at the Division I level (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2019), while the men's cumulative 3.17 GPA helped the team claimed its eighth overall award (1995, 1996, 1997, 2006, 2008, 2018, 2019).
To qualify as an All-Academic Cross Country Team, programs must've had a combined GPA of 3.00 or better, using the association's specific formula. Overall, there were 191 men's teams and 237 women's squads that received All-Academic honors at the NCAA Division I level.
