The Falcon Athletic Fund set a record for Giving Tuesday on Nov. 30 for the six consecutive year with $770,932 in total contributions with 1,434 gifts from all 50 states. The total raised increased by 102 percent, while total gifts increased by 117 percent from the previous year. All funds directly support the 1,000-plus cadet-athletes and coaches at the Academy.
"On behalf of our cadet-athletes, coaches and staff, thank you Falcon Nation for your investment into our 1,000-plus cadet athletes competing in 27 programs," Director of Athletics Nathan Pine said. "The incredible generosity of our supporters who answered the call on Giving Tuesday will help provide much-needed Margin of Excellence resources for our programs to compete on the national stage. It's a great day to be a Falcon!"
Baseball took the top spot on the leaderboard as the most successful individual program, breaking its own record with 391 gifts and $125,975. The lacrosse program also saw plenty of success with 153 individual gifts, while the water polo program shattered previous marks, raising $190,968. Water Polo received our largest single Giving Tuesday gift to date of $150,000 and increased number of gifts by 249 percent from last year.
"Air Force baseball would like to personally thank all of our supporters from "Giving Tuesday," and also give a shout-out to our lacrosse and water polo programs for impressive days as well," Mike Kazlausky, Maj (Ret), head baseball coach, said. "We say in our program to lead from the front and that includes our parents, our alumni, and all of our supporters as well. Today, we salute you, thank you!"
Giving Tuesday is a part of the Falcon Athletic Funds on-going Margin of Excellence: "Commit to the Bigger Picture" campaign. All funds raised during Giving Tuesday and all funds raised from Falcon Athletic Fund initiatives directly benefit cadet-athletes.
