Men’s Tennis Falls To Creighton, 4-3

Air Force men's tennis (2-2) dropped a 4-3 contest at Creighton Sunday morning at the Hanscom Tennis Courts in Omaha, Neb.

The Falcons were unable to hold onto a 3-2 lead, as the Bluejays rallied back by taking the final two singles matches to rally.

The Falcons dropped the doubles point after going 1-2. The Falcons won the first doubles match at No. 3, as Jonathan Mascagni and Justin Waldman defeated Mac Mease and Armando Gandini 6-2. The Falcons then lost at No. 2 as Jordan Azuma and Robert Baylon fell to Matthew Lanahan and Jose Oscar Diaz 6-4. The Falcons also fell at No. 1 as Paul Hendrix and Jamie Bautista lost to Stratton Brown and Joe Hoff 7-5.

The Falcons won the first three singles matches to jump ahead 3-2. Hendrix defeated Brown at No. 1, 6-4, 6-3. Baylon won at No. 4 over Shin Inoue 6-3, 7-6 (8-6). Waldman then won at No. 2 over Lanahan 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-4.

Sean McKendree fell at No. 6 to Joe Hoff 6-3, 6-1. Azuma then fell at No. 5 to Gandini 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

Air Force returns to action Sturday, Feb. 27, hosting Denver.
