COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Seniors Jamie Bautista and Paul Hendrix of Air Force were named to the 2020-21 Mountain West All-Conference Men's Tennis team, announced today by the conference office. Hendrix earned All-MW singles honors in addition to All-MW doubles honors with Bautista.
It was Hendrix's second singles and doubles honor and the second doubles honor for Bautista. Both earned the same accolades as juniors in 2019-20.
Hendrix posted six wins as Air Force's No. 1 singles player. He played at No. 1 singles for every dual and finished the season with 16 combined wins. Hendrix is the fifth player in program history to earn multiple all-conference honors and the first since Lance Wilhelm in 2012-13.
In doubles, Bautista and Hendrix combined to go 10-8 as a duo at No. 1 doubles, all in dual competition. The two posted a 4-3 record in conference play and was part of Air Force's doubles teams that went 6-1 in MW action. Their nine career MW doubles wins are an Air Force record and they are just the third duo to earn multiple all-conference doubles honors.
The two were also doubles teammates for all four years at Air Force, amassing a 45-27 career record together.
"Paul and Jamie had an incredible career and became one of the best teams in the conference because of their dedication to improving each day," head coach Dan Oosterhous said. "They focussed on the fundamentals and played a beautiful style of doubles that proved to be tough to beat."
The Falcon men's tennis team completed the season with an 8-12 record in dual competition.
