
Men’s Tennis Announces 2020-21 Awards

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis announced its team award winners for the 2020-21 season. Senior Paul Hendrix was named the teams' Most Valuable Player, while junior Robert Baylon took home two awards, in addition to being named the team captain for next season.
The Falcons posted eight duals wins on the season. Air Force's signature win came against San Diego State, which was the first over the Aztecs since 1989. The Falcons were one of the top doubles teams in the Mountain West, compiling a conference-best 6-1 team record in doubles points. Seniors Hendrix and Jamie Bautista capped solid four-year careers with their second-career All-MW doubles team honor and All-MW singles honor for Hendrix.
Hendrix captured the team MVP honor for the second time in his career. The senior posted six wins at No. 1 singles and 10 wins at No. 1 doubles. In addition to the MVP honor, Hendrix earned the Iron Bolt award for the second-consecutive season.
Senior Sean McKendree earned the Most Improved award. McKendree posted eight wins in singles including a 6-1 mark at No. 5 singles. He was also 8-4 in doubles.
Baylon earned the Coach Gugat "Attitude is Everything" and the Lightning Bolt Awards. Baylon led the Falcons with the most singles and doubles wins (23 wins; 11 singles, 12 doubles). In addition, he was named the team captain for the 2021-22 season.
