Sean McKendree earns CoSIDA Academic All-District honors

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Six Air Force cadet-athletes were named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® At-Large Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The six Falcons named to the District VII all-academic team are rising junior Alex Hirjoi (men's water polo) with a 3.88 cumulative GPA in aeronautical engineering, rising senior Nestor Levin (men's fencing) with a 3.86 in engineering chemistry, graduated senior Sheyma Ben Mabrouk (women's fencing) with a 3.71 in aeronautical engineering, graduated senior Sean McKendree (men's tennis) with a 3.96 in mechanical engineering, graduated senior Kyle Stronko (women's swimming) with a 3.85 in Foreign area studies and political science and graduated senior Brian Waschak (men's gymnastics) with a 3.91 in biology.
All six will be on the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early August.
To be nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least one full academic year at their institution, be a significant contributor and carry a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.30 or higher. The academic awards for District VII are voted on by CoSIDA members from Division I programs in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.
