Men’s Tennis Opens Day One Action at MSU Denver Fall Invitational

Air Force men's tennis opened day one action at the MSU Denver Fall Invitational Saturday afternoon in Denver. The Falcons won five singles events.

Sophomore Daniel Wei led the way with a pair of wins in the C draw to advance to the semifinals. Wei defeated A. Baum 6-2, 6-1 and T. Hartman in the quarterfinals 6-4, 6-2.

In the A draw freshmen William Kesterson and Luke Wolf both went 1-1. Kesterson won his collegiate debut 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 over J. McDermott. He then fell in the quarterfinals to K. Savary 6-3, 6-3. After dropping his first match, Wolf rallied to defeat teammate Alex Krawietz in the consolation bracket.

In the B draw, sophomore Brian Garcia went 1-1. Garcia fell to D. Kijak 3-6, 6-2, 10-0. He then rallied in the back draw win a win over A. Kley 6-2, 7-6.

Day two competion resumes tomorrow.
