Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Day Two At Dar Walters Classic

Air Force men's tennis completed day two action at the Dar Walters Classic in Boise, Idaho, Saturday. The Falcons picked up 10 wins in day two, including eight in singles.

In the main draw, seniors Robert Baylon and Jordan Azuma both went 1-1, advancing to the third round before falling. Baylon won his second round match over Ryo Minakata of Boise State 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 before falling in the third round to Kyrill Kryvchun of Boise State 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Azuma won his match against teammate Kyle Garner 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 before falling to Michael Bott of Boise State 7-5, 6-3.

In the consolation bracket, sophomore Nick Vroman and freshman Arjun Kersten led the way with a pair of wins. Vroman defeated Caden Moortgat of Boise State 2-6, 6-2, 10-7 and Francisco Gay of Idaho 2-6, 6-3, 10-2. Kersten defeated Jacob Huppin of Montana State 6-0, 6-1 and Marcos Zelver of Montana State 6-0, 5-7, 10-6. Garner and Jonathan Mascagni also picked up wins in the consolation round.

The Falcons picked up a pair of wins in doubles. The duo of Mascagni and Kersten defeated Nathan/Zelver of Montana State 6-4. Vroman and Waldman combined to down Gay/Casino of Idaho 6-3. In the main doubles draw, Baylon and Azuma fell in round three to Krybchun/Bott of Boise 6-4.

The Falcons wrap up competition at the Walters Classis with day three action at the Sunday.
