Air Force Men’s Tennis Completes Day Two Of ITA Bedford Cup

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis completed day two hosting the 2021 ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains on Friday, at the Air Force Outdoor Intercollegiate Tennis Courts. The Falcons picked up five wins on the day, led by a pair from freshman Kyle Garner.

Garner advanced to the Silver Draw championship match Sunday with his wins in the quarter and semifinals. Garner defeated teammate Daniel Wei 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (6) in the quarters and then defeated Joaquin Espinoza of Montana State 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Air Force also earned wins from Nick Vroman, Luke Wolf and William Kesterson. Vroman won in the back draw of the Blue quarterfinals over Army's Diego Huttepain 6-1, 6-4 before falling in the semifinals. Wolf won in the Eagle bracket over Particio Garcia of Denver 1-6, 7-6 (1), 1-0 (10). Kesterson won in the Falcon bracket over Marcos Zelver of Montana State 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles, both Falcon teams were unable to get past the quarterfinals. Robert Baylon and Jordan Azuma fell to Clarke/Akkermans of New Mexico State 6-4. Jonathan Mascagni and Arjun Kersten fell to #4 Menard/Simecek of New Medxico State 6-3.

Day three action wraps up play tomorrow morning with doubles, followed by singles.
