Lindsey Peters Named MW Freshman of the Week

Peters is the first recipient of the newly-created Mountain West award.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force runner Lindsey Peters was selected as the Mountain West Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon (Sept. 7). A native of Caledonia, Mich., Peters is the first recipient of the new weekly conference award.
Peters easily won her collegiate debut on Saturday, Sept. 4, as she completed the three-mile course around Monument Valley Park in 17:13.2 – a time that separated herself from the rest of the field by 12.3 seconds and marked the third-fastest time in Meet history.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday, Sept. 18, when they travel to Lincoln, Neb., for the 31st Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational at Mahoney Golf Course.
