U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. – Air Force Athletics and the Falcon Athletic Fund have announced it will once again participate in the National Day of Giving, Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022. The annual fundraiser, in support of United States Air Force Academy cadet-athletes, is in its seventh consecutive year.
Last year's Giving Tuesday saw Air Force Athletics' donors double their record-breaking support over 2020, raising over $776,000. Overall participation and investment have been on the rise over the past several years, with over 700 new donors on Giving Tuesday alone last year.
"Our annual day of giving has become one of our marquee events of the year," said Tim Mahan, associate athletic director for development. "Our coaches and alumni have bought into the philanthropic and competitive spirit of the day, with each program pushing each other to be at the top of our leaderboards. We continue to raise the bar and aim to raise over $1 million on November 29."
This year, the Falcon Athletic Fund plans to unveil new ways for alumni, families and supporters to be involved on the day, including an ambassador program, interactive donor maps and new and improved leaderboards. Familiar Giving Tuesday elements such as sport-specific matching gifts and hourly challenges will continue and see new enhancements.
The Falcon Athletic Fund is challenging all Falcon Fans to continue or heighten their financial support of Air Force Athletics cadet-athletes. Funds raised on Giving Tuesday help support program needs across the spectrum including international trips, team and locker room upgrades, technology enhancements and nutrition needs.
