Air Force Completes Day Two At ITA Mountain Regional Championships

Air Force men's tennis completed day two play at the 2022 ITA Mountain Regional Championships Friday, Oct. 14, at the McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium and Linda Estes Tennis Complex at the University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque, NM.

The Falcons picked up six wins in day two. Junior Nick Vroman led the way for the Falcons, reaching the quarterfinals of the main singles draw. Vroman won his first singles match over Dominik Buzonics of Northern Arizona 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 to reach the quarters. He then fell to Nicolas Herrero Cuesta of Denver 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.

The Falcons also picked up a pair of wins in the main draw consolation rounds. Sophomore Arjun Kersten defeated Victor Sklenka of Idaho 1-6, 6-2 (11-9). Senior Jonathan Mascagni defeated Guillermo Martin of Montana 6-2, 6-4. Sophomore Luke Wolf also earned a win over Brian Chen of BYU 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles play, senior Justin Waldman and Vroman won in the main doubles draw over Sitar/Buckland of Montana State 8-5. In the Lobo draw, the freshmen due of AJ Moore and Jack Brown defeated Mathan/Ford of New Mexico State 8-7 (7-5).

Air Force returns to action in day three action tomorrow back in Albuquerque.
