
Three Falcons earn all-WWPA honors

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Three Air Force water polo players earned Western Water Polo Association honors, as released today by the league office.
Senior Grant Snyder was named to the first team while junior Ian Christie earned second team honors and Jake Dixon was named to the all-freshman team.
Snyder, from Springville, Calif., earned his third first-team honor as he wraps up one of the most storied careers at Air Force. Snyder leads the nation in points (171), is second in goals (114), fifth in assists (57) and second in sprint wins (56). He set the school record for most points in a season and is second in goals in a season. Snyder has earned WWPA Player of the Week twice and Air Force Athletics Player of the Week twice. Snyder has eight games this season with at least five goals and includes a season-high eight against Wagner.
Christie, from San Anselmo, Calif., is tied for first in the nation in assists (90), fourth in points (158) and tied for fifth in steals (47). His 90 assists is a new school record and he ranks second all-time in points in a season at Air Force. He had 10 games with four-plus assists, including a career-high seven assists against #15 Cal Baptist. He scored five goals in the CBU for 12 points, which was the most by a Falcon in a game during the regular season.
Dixon, also from San Anselmo, Calif., led the Falcon freshmen in goals with 39. He ranked second amongst the freshmen with 48 points. He ranked third on the team in drawn exclusions with 19. He had career highs of five goals against La Verne and Augustana and a career-high seven points against La Verne.
Air Force (23-10) is the No. 5 seed in the Western Water Polo Association Championships, Nov. 18-20, in Los Angeles, Calif. Air Force will face fourth-seeded Santa Clara in the opening round on Friday, Nov. 18, at 1:30 pm PT.
