Women’s Swimming Concludes Friday Action at MW Championships

COLLEGE STATION - Air Force showed up strong for Friday finals with 18 individual swims and the 200 free relay, setting personal bests and impacting the program record books, Friday afternoon in the Rec Center on the Campus of Texas A&M.
The relay got the night stared off right, moving up to seventh place behind the team of Abby Turner, Sefilina Maile, Raquelle Roesch, and Kara Gavin. The Falcons carried momentum into the 400 IM with three new best times. Ella Martin crushed the B Final with a lifetime best of 4:21.84 to place ninth and move up to third on the Air Force Top-10 list. Corrine Yorkman turned a 4:24.84 to sneak into 13th and moved up to fifth on the AF Top-10. In the C Finals, Lauren Arnold placed 18th in a 4:25.16 (sixth on the AF Top-10) followed by Maeve Rosko in 23rd.
Allana Clarke jump started the 100 Fly with a C Final win for 17th place and seventh on the Top-10 list. Falcons' Darien Tompkins and Alex Clark both dropped time from their morning swims and moved up places, finishing 20th and 22nd, respectively. Shayla Markle earned 13th place with a 55.12 and moves up to number five on the program Top-10 list. Corbyn Cormack swam a strong 53.77 to finish sixth.
Three Flacon swimmers added points to the board in the 200 Free. Addie Orris (15th), Abby Turner (23rd), and Raquelle Roesch (24th) all swam within tenths of their morning times. In the 100 Breast, Kimmy Woolfenden dropped a half second from her morning swim to post a 1:02.34–good for a 10th place finish and second on the Air Force Top-10 list.
The 100 Back saw four Falcons get the job done. Allana Clarke (12th), Shayla Markle (14th), Sefilina Maile (16th), and Addie Orris (24th) all put up points for Air Force.
To round out the results, Anna Ashley swam a 55.98 100 Back in a morning exhibition swim, securing the seventh spot on the Air Force Top-10 list.
Conference championship competition concludes on Saturday with platform diving, the mile, and the last swim races. Action is slated to begin at 10 a.m. CT, in the Rec Center.
