The Falcon Athletic Fund breaks previous milestones, increases total contributions by 71%
Air Force Athletics and the Falcon Athletic Fund (FAF) set new fundraising records in 2021-22, increasing total contributions by 73 percent year-over-year with gifts from over 2,800 donors (an increase of 57 percent). This marks the fourth straight year for the FAF setting new donation and participation records.
"The increased support our donors have contributed this past year is vital to Air Force's success in today's rapidly changing Division I environment," said Director of Athletics Nathan Pine. "We cannot thank our Falcon family enough for answering the call to invest in these impressive cadet-athletes and programs to provide the margin of excellence resources needed to propel our programs forward. I would also like to recognize and thank our development staff for their hard work in professionalizing the FAF processes and communications to make it easy and desirable for Falcon Nation to step up in this incredible way."
Several key elements of the FAF helped to contribute to this record-breaking year. The 'Ascend to Thin Air' program received three of the largest gifts in FAF history totaling over $1.7 million in philanthropic support. The FAF "Giving Tuesday" also broke the previous year's record in raising over $770,000 from more than 1,400 gifts in 24 hours. Finally, the "Night of Excellence" gala and auction returned to an in-person event at The Broadmoor this spring and brought in more than $292,000.
The fundraising success of the past year has led to the completion of some pivotal projects within our sport programs and launched several others. It has also given our coaches the ability to continue to make important investments in their programs.
