The men moved up two spots in the Sept. 13 edition of the USTFCCCA national rankings.
NEW ORLEANS – The Air Force men's cross country team moved up to No. 11 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Division I National Coaches Poll, which was released this afternoon (Sept. 13) by the USTFCCCA office. The Falcons, the only Top 30 team in the Mountain West, moved up two spots from their preseason mark (No. 13) during the first poll of the regular season.
The men tallied 194 points to earn the No. 11 ranking – a placement that matched their highest regular season ranking since 2018. It is also the 40th-straight poll where Air Force's men have been mentioned in the national conversation (either as a ranked team or one that is receiving votes) – a program-best streak that dates back to the opening poll of the 2017 season.
In addition, the men are ranked fourth in the Mountain Region, while the women are listed ninth.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday (Sept. 17), when 16 runners travel to Lincoln, Neb., for the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational.
