The women are receiving votes in the national poll for the first time since 2020.
NEW ORLEANS – The Air Force men's cross country team held steady at No. 11 in the Sept. 27 edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Division I National Coaches Poll, while the women received votes for the first time this season.
Following a Top-10 performance at the Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday, Sept. 24, the men accumulated 213 points to hold the No. 11 ranking for the third-straight week – a placement that continues to match their highest regular season ranking since 2018. It is also the 42nd-straight poll where Air Force's men have been mentioned in the national conversation (either as a ranked team or one that is receiving votes) – a program-best streak that dates back to the opening poll of the 2017 season.
The women, who earned a 14th-place finish in the team standings at last weekend's Jamboree, earned a spot in the national conversation for the first time since the final poll of the 2020 season.
In addition, the men remained listed at No. 4 in the Mountain Region, while the women jumped back into the Top 10 with their highest regional ranking of the season (eighth).
The Falcons are off from competition until Friday, Oct. 14, when they travel to Madison to take on more of the nation's elite at the annual Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational.
