Air Force Falls To Nevada at MW Championships

Seventh-seeded Air Force men's tennis fell 4-0 to second-seed Nevada and was eliminated from competition at the 2023 Mountain West Men's Tennis Championships Wednesday night at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

The Wolf Pack (11-7) took the doubles point and went 3-0 in singles play for the win.

Air Force won the opening doubles match at No. 3 as Phillip Deaton and Kyle Garner defeated Zisswiller/Benn 6-4. Nevada rallied by winning at No. 1 and No. 2 to clinch the point. Arjun Kersten and Jonathan Mascagni fell at No. 1 to N'Tcha/Batalla 6-3 and Justin Waldman and Nick Vroman fell at No. 2 to Coupu/Kadiri 7-5.

In singles Mascagni fell at No. 6 to Loris Zisswiller 6-4, 6-4. Waldman then dropped his match at No. 3 to Delmas N'Tcha 6-3, 6-4. Kersten then fell at No. 1 to Matheo Coupu 7-5, 7-5.

Air Force caps the season with a 12-11 record for its second straight winning season and third in its last four years.
