
Brant Ust named senior associate athletic director

Brant Ust has been named senior associate athletic director for Air Force Athletics, according to an announcement today from Director of Athletics Nathan Pine. Ust will be responsible for sports administration for football, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, wrestling and men's and women's tennis.
 
"Brant Ust will be a tremendous addition to our team at Air Force," Pine said. "He brings with him a wealth of experience from the highest level of Division I athletics as a player, administrator and sport supervisor. His enthusiasm for our mission of developing leaders of character and mentoring coaches and athletes makes him a great fit for Air Force Athletics. We are thrilled to welcome Brant, Jessica and their family to the Academy."
 
"I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve the Academy in developing future leaders of America through the experiences and education which collegiate athletics provides," Ust said. "I am excited by the vision for success which Nathan Pine and Jen Block shared and for their trust and belief in me. I look forward to working with highly respected coaches while further supporting cadet-athletes' pursuit of excellence."
 
Ust comes to the Academy from Auburn, where he served as senior associate athletics director since 2018. He served as a member of the executive staff and was responsible for assisting with planning and implementation of the department's administrative strategies with oversight of equipment, sports performance, sports medicine, and sport psychology and counseling. Ust also supported Auburn's relationships with Under Armour, Aramark, and assisted with various athletics capital projects, and camps. Ust also provided sport administrative support to baseball, soccer, and track & field/cross country.
 
Prior to his time at Auburn, Ust served as an assistant athletics director and the Monogram Club executive director at Notre Dame while also providing sport administrative support to men's golf from 2014-18. He worked with USA Baseball as the director of the 18U National Team Program and alumni relations from 2010-14. He has also worked as an assistant strength & conditioning coach, and assistant baseball coach at Michigan (2008-2009). Ust played professional baseball from 1999–2008 after originally being drafted by the Detroit Tigers as a sixth-round selection. He has also participated as a member of Team USA as both a collegian (1998) and professional (2005) and with the Great Britain National Team (2007, 2009).
Ust graduated from Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing in 2001. Ust participated in the 2018 Sports Management Institute cohort. While a student at Notre Dame, Ust was an All-American and three-time Monogram winner as an infielder on the baseball team (1997-99).
Ust is a native of Redmond, Washington and is married to his wife, Jessica. The couple have three children: Gavin, Sullivan and Kellen.
