
Air Force Downs North Dakota State, 21-13

FARGO – Air Force rattled off five-straight wins to claim a 21-13 comeback win over North Dakota State in Big 12 Conference action, Sunday afternoon, in the Scheels Center. The win marks the Falcons' first win over the Bison since 2011. Air Force improves to 3-5 with its first Big 12 dual win on the campaign.
Air Force sophomore Tucker Owens got the Falcons off to a fast start with a convincing 11-3 major decision over Ryan Henningson. Owens notched his first Big 12 dual win in his 10th win this season.
The Bison (3-7, 2-2 Big 12) responded with four-straight wins from 133 to 157, posting a major decision at 149 to give NDSU a 13-4 team lead heading into the 165 division.
Senior 165-pounder No. 14 Giano Petrucelli delivered for the second time on the weekend, posting a dominating 14-2 major decision over Brendan Howes. Petrucelli, now 6-2 in dual action, has five major decisions on the season and is on a four-match win streak. Senior teammate Noah Blake notched his first dual win of the season in the ensuing match, besting Mason Gode in a gritty 3-2 decision win.
At 184, senior co-team captain Sam Wolf responded well to Friday's loss, commanding a 12-0 major decision over Adam Cherne. Wolf is 6-1 in dual action for the Falcons this season. At 197, senior Calvin Sunds assumed the team score lead with a 6-3 decision over Spencer Mooberry, picking up his first Big 12 dual win and second dual meet win this season.
Senior All-American No. 2 Wyatt Hendrickson sealed the deal on the Bison with a hard fought 9-4 decision over three-time NJCAA All-American Devon Dawson for his second decision win this season. Hendrickson improved to 16-0 with the win and now has 91 career wins to his name.
