Falcon Men’s Swim and Dive Finish Behind Denver in Competitive Meet

DENVER – The Air Force men's swimming and diving team came up short in El Pomar Natatorium, finishing behind Denver, 155.00-145.00. Eight Falcons battled to first-place finishes at the meet.
The Falcons were dominant in the 100 breaststroke race, winning first place through fifth place behind Bridon Rosales' victory (55.51). Teammates Tanner Wilson, Mack Nuval, Tommy Nagle, and Anthony Sebastian finished second through fourth, respectively.
Air Force team captain James Winterfield led the charge with three first place finishes, claiming the 100 backstroke, 100 freestyle, and a stake in the 400 free relay win with Chase Dwornicki, Gavin Peterman, and Jacob Bulseco. The Falcons' Daniel Detjen, Joe Christ, Kai Tiede, and Gavin Dustin swam to third in the 400 free relay race.
Christ, Dwornicki, Sebastian, Witte, and Camden Swigart claimed the top spot in their respective races. Christ swam to the first-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:41.92), just ahead of Swigart's second place finish (1:42.02). Swigart raced to first place in the 200 IM (1:52.24). Dwornicki raced to a first-place finish in the 50 free (20.77) after finishing second in the 100 free (45.98). Anthony Sebastian won the 200 breaststroke (2:03.14) just ahead of freshman teammate Tanner Wilson (2:03.36). Witte won first place in the 500 free (4:49.79), and took third in the 200 fly and 1000 freestyle.
Air Force's top diver Alex Kenyon secured third place on the 3-meter dive with a 284.70.
Coming up, Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving will travel to Laramie to take on Wyoming in dual meet action on Saturday, November 2. Action at Laramie High School is slated for 3 p.m. MT.
