The Falcons earned four wins against Denver. Kersten defeated Rikuto Yamaguchi 6-4, 6-4. Fritzinger defeated Mark Neyelov 6-3, 6-1. Tingleaf defeated Relja Eskic 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. Matthew Staton defeated Theo Coats 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-4.
Air Force also earned two wins against Gonzaga. Wolf defeated Oscar Rashed 6-3, 6-4. Leaird defeated Gua Krauel 6-0, 7-6 (6).
Head Coach Evan Urbina recapping the weekend:
"We played a ton of matches this weekend against great teams. I was most proud of how we improved every day. We talked about lifting our teammates up with better energy and finishing the job. We are continuing to learn how to handle the momentum shifts and to do what it takes to be our best in the biggest moments. Coach Castro has developed exceptional on-court rapport with the team, and his strategic knowledge was huge for getting us through in some tight matches.
I'm continuing to look for leadership from every player on the team. We have an incredible group and each player brings different strengths to our program. We want to continue to see how each player is building up their teammates. We're better with a team-first mentality. We will be competitive at every position next year, and I can't wait for our spring season."
The Falcons cap their fall season with the Colorado Cup. They return to action in the spring season on Jan. 18, 2025 at Denver.
