Emara and Watrall Sweep MPSF Fencer Of The Week Honors

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force fencing claimed both the men's and women's Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Men's Fencer of the Week honors for the week Oct. 28-Nov. 3 competition, announced today by the conference office. Junior Omar Emara won the MPSF Men's Fencer of the Week and sophomore Christina Watrall won MPSF Women's Fencer of the Week.

Watrall (Mahwah, NJ) turned in a remarkable 20-4 record (.833) at the Western Invitational (Nov. 2-3). She posted a perfect 3-0 mark against Ohio State, Stanford, Brandeis, Tufts, and Incarnate Word, two wins against Northwestern and UC San Diego, and an additional victory over defending NCAA Champion Harvard. Coming off the 2024 MPSF Newcomer of the Year honor, this is the first career MPSF weekly award for Watrall.

Emara (Arcadia, CA) led the Falcon men with a 13-5 weekend record (.722) at the Western Invitational (Nov. 2-3), including three wins over Brandeis and UIW, and two wins over defending NCAA Champion Harvard, Ohio State, and Stanford. This is the second career MPSF weekly award for Emara.

The Falcons return to action Nov. 8-11 at the November NAC in Louisville, Ky.
