Falcons are tied for second after first day of PRC Championships

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. –The Air Force rifle team is tied for second after the first day of the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships, Saturday, Feb. 3, in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The seventh-ranked Falcons shot a 2348, the second-highest smallbore score of the season and the fourth-highest in school history. The Falcons are tied for second with No. 4 Alaska, one point behind No. 2 TCU (2349). No. 8 Nebraska is fourth at 2335, followed by No. 9 Ohio State (2332) and UTEP (2276).
Senior Morgan Kreb and junior Lauren Hurley each reached the finals in smallbore. Kreb and Hurley each shot a 590 to reach the final round. In the finals, Kreb finished fifth and Hurley finished sixth. Scott Rockett shot a 585, followed by Peninah D'Souza (583) and Victoria Leppert (576). Dante Aletto shot a 579 and Megan Torrence shot 571.
The PRC Championships conclude with the air rifle competition on Sunday, Feb. 3, starting at 9 am ET in Fort Wayne, Ind.
