
Wyatt Hendrickson Finishes Third at 2024 NCAA Championships

KANSAS CITY – Wyatt Hendrickson claimed third place for the second time at the NCAA Wrestling Championships, this weekend, in the T-Mobile Center. One of Air Force's most decorated wrestlers, Hendrickson concludes his career a two-time All-American, two-time Big 12 Champion, four-time NCAA qualifier, four-time Big 12 placer, and a total of 104 career wins.

In his first match of the day, Hendrickson met with a tough opponent in (9) Nick Feldman of Ohio State. Hendrickson dominated the Buckeye round after round, scoring a pair of takedowns in the first period and one in each period thereafter while only conceding escape points to Feldman. In the third period, it took Hendrickson about a minute to tally the final takedown. With the addition of 2:21 of riding time, Hendrickson finalized the match by major decision, 14-5. Hendrickson moved on to the third-place bout against (6) Zach Elam of Missouri who he beat by 8-1 decision in the quarterfinals.
Hendrickson was equally as dominant in his third-place bout, scoring three takedowns and four nearfall points while conceding just two escapes to the All-American Elam. Hendrickson put up 11 points in the second period, putting a display of might on for the Falcon faithful. Hendrickson sealed the deal on Elam by major decision, 14-2.
Air Force will formally bring the season to a close at the annual awards banquet, April 5.
