Air Force in fifth place at NCAA Championships

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force rifle team shot a 2333 in smallbore on the first day of the NCAA Rifle Championships, Friday, March 8, at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, W.V. The Falcons are in fifth place overall.
A consistent group of shooters for the Falcons was led by senior Morgan Kreb in smallbore with a 585. Senior Peninah D'Souza and junior Lauren Hurley each shot a 584 while junior Scott Rockett shot a 580 and sophomore Victoria Leppert shot a 576.
Top-ranked West Virginia won the smallbore competition with a 2353. No. 2 TCU was second with a 2347, followed by No. 3 Kentucky (2358), No. 4 Alaska (2337), No. 5 Air Force (2333), No. 10 Navy (2330), No. 7 Mississippi (2328) and No. 8 Nebraska (2317).
The air rifle competition will be on the final day of the championships, Saturday, March 9, in Morgantown, W.V.
